How To Communicate Efficiently

This means knowing what to say, how to say it and last but not least, how to behave. The person to whom you are speaking can only judge you on what he hears and sees, so even if you are grateful, he will think you are ungrateful if you do not say thank you. Talking Introductions You may be meeting someone for the first time so you tell him, with a smile, exactly who you are Hello, my name is Maria Lindon, I m the Marketing Manager assistant. You may need to introduce someone to someone so you will say: May I introduce John Milson. John, this is Peter, the principal of the Berkshire secondary school. They will then shake hands and say: How do you do. or Hello, pleased to meet you. Conversations You may be talking to a colleague or a client. It is important to show them that you are interested in what they are saying, so you look at them and not over their hands or at the ground. To show them that you are really listening and not thinking about what you are going to have for dinner, you participate in their speech by nodding and saying mmm really oh now and then. When you want to comment...
The Power Of Concentration

If you had the power of concentration whenever you wanted it, imagine how much more productive you could be. Not only can learn how to concentrate better, but you can do so right now. Concentration Power Is Automatic Start working on something, and concentration is automatic, until you are distracted. Usually these interruptions are your own thoughts, and they may come every few seconds. If there was nothing interfering, you would have easy and complete concentration. What you need is a method to remove the distractions, to control your wandering mind. Here it is: Start paying attention to what is going on in your head. Maybe there s a phone call you need to make, that has been quietly bothering you, just below consciousness. You could be worried about an upcoming meeting, or a family matter. Start tuning into your mind today, and it will become easier by tomorrow. Then, as you become aware of these stressors, do something with them to let them go for the moment. Make that phone call, or make a note about it, and your mind will usually let go of the concern for now. Do whatever you can...

Posted on January 11, 2009 by Darius
It 8217;s no secret that water and lots of it is necessary for a healthy lifestyle. But what kind of water. As a result of increased negative publicity regarding various drinking water contaminants, people today are more aware and concerned about the quality of the water they drink. Copper is an example of a contaminant identified by the Environmental Protection Agency EPA as a potential health threat in drinking water. The maximum allowable level of copper in drinking water is 1.3 parts per million, which is based on the lowest observed adverse health effect level. Short-term effects of excess copper exposure include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramps. Long-term effects are more serious and include liver and kidney damage, as well as anemia. Copper can leach into drinking water as household copper plumbing ages and corrodes. Third-party testing and certification labs, like NSF International, do not certify copper for potable water use with a pH of less than 6.5. Under these water conditions, copper pipe may corrode at a rate sufficient to contaminate water beyond state and...

Many people view high self-esteem as a golden carrot, an unattainable goal, something that belongs to a charmed few. In reality, everyone can and should enjoy healthy confidence. You have positive attributes, special talents and unique personalities, but these good points can be clouded over by negative feedback you ve received from others and internalized. Recognizing one special feature is all you need to use as a springboard to raising your self-esteem. When a negative influence brings your confidence down, remember your key feature and remind yourself that you are good, better, best. Sound too simple. A major cookie maker built an empire using this very method. This particular woman had reached rock bottom and thought that she wasn t good for anything. Then someone asked the woman to state one thing that she was really good at. After careful thought, the woman answered that she could make one mean chocolate chip cookie. She started baking cookies for a few local caterers, and from there launched a major cookie company. As you can imagine, the woman s self confidence soared right...
